Get Your Home Ready For Summer

You have been patiently waiting for the summer since January, you might be ready, but is your home? There are a number of things which you can do to get your home summer ready, just take a look at our tips below.


It is time to get your garden in order. It might have been neglected over the colder months but it’s time to get it up to scratch. First things first, get your lawnmower out and give your grass a well needed trim. You will be surprised on how much of an impact this will have on the appearance of your garden. It would be wise to start filling your flower beds now, so that the plants will flower in the Summer months.

If you are feeling a little more creative, you could revamp the whole of your garden. Painting fences and your garden shed or even installing a pond. All these things contribute to a garden which will most definitely look the part.

It’s time to get rid of your old garden furniture. If you are like me, and have a table and chairs which are looking a bit neglected, it’s time to buy some more. If you are short on cash, just spruce them up by painting them.

As barbeque season is upon us, it’s time to fish your grill out and give it a good clean, especially if it has been sitting in your shed or garage for a few months.

I know the Christmas period has passed, but it’s time to get rid of all that winter clutter which you may of accumulated. Empty your freezer and make room for all that ice cream, frozen fruit, ice lollies and other summer treats.

Bring the outdoors indoors by keeping your windows open and letting air flow through your home. Give your windows a well needed clean to really let the sun shine through. It might even be a good time to give your home a well needed lick of paint as well, even add some bold summery colours. Get rid of your thick winter duvet, and bring out your thinner summer one.

Just remember that making your home summer ready doesn’t have be expensive. Lets just hope that the sun stays out long enough for us to enjoy it.
